Young Scientist Programme 2027 (YSP2027)

On behalf of the 18th FAOBMB Congress and IM-MSBMB51 Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite young scientists to participate in the Young Scientists Programme (YSP2027), which will be held at Sunway University Campus, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 21st - 23rd August 2027.

YSP2027 will bring together registered PhD candidates and early-career scientists with no more than 10 years of post-graduate experience from twenty FAOBMB Constituent Member Countries/Regions. Participants will have the opportunity to attend YSP2027 and present their research work, and will take part in the 18th FAOBMB Congress and IM-MSBMB51, where they can further showcase their work.

Both YSP2027 and the 18th FAOBMB Congress and IM-MSBMB51 provide an excellent platform for young scientists to exchange scientific ideas, present their work to an international audience, and engage with leading researchers from around the world. Eligible PhD candidates and early-career scientists are strongly encouraged to apply for the YSP Fellowships.

Benefits

• Full accommodation in shared rooms during YSP2027, from 20th - 22nd August 2027.
• Travel grant that contributes fully or partially towards the return airfare in economy class from the awardee's country of residence to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
• Registration fee waiver for the 18th FAOBMB Congress and IM-MSBMB51 from 24th - 27th August 2027.

Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Applicants must be currently
  • registered as a PhD student at an institute of higher learning in an FAOBMB member country, OR
  • holding a position as post-doctoral fellow or researcher (within 10 years of completion of a PhD degree) at an institute of higher learning in an FAOBMB member country.

• Applicants who have previously been awarded a Fellowship to attend a YSP meeting organised through the IUBMB, FEBS, FASBMB, PABMB or FAOBMB will not be considered.

• Certification of the applicant's current membership of FAOBMB-related National Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, provided by the Secretary or other responsible officer of that Society.

  Note: If you do not have a valid FAOBMB membership, please contact the corresponding organization in your country of origin.

• All documents should be merged into a single PDF file.
• The filename should be saved as follows:
